Women’s Ministry is now called “The Gathering” because we want women to feel like they have a place to find support from other women as they seek to enrich their relationship to God. We want encourage them to, “… Hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet to together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another…” Hebrews 10:23-25. We try to provide events where they can gather to worship, fellowship, pray for one another, serve, find encouragement and accountability.
The Backpack ministry is the service project lead by the Women’s Ministry at FBC. We depend on support from the entire church, some sister churches, and several community organizations. We fill gallon size baggies with weekend food for students who are in need in Comal ISD. We serve Startzville Elementary, Mountain Valley Elementary, Rebecca Creek Elementary, Mountain Valley Elementary school and Canyon Lake High School. Women from First Baptist and other community volunteers gather once a month to stuff the bags and deliver them to the schools. Any monetary contributions can be made by sending a check to First Baptist Church Canyon Lake, with Backpack Ministry in the memo line. If it is cash donation, please put in an envelope marked Backpack Ministry, and address the envelope to First Baptist Church, Canyon Lake, 13085 FM 306, Canyon Lake, Texas, 78133. Food donations can be taken to the First Baptist Church Office.
